Why Government Services are Always Broken

The government says it doesn’t allow monopolies.

But the government is a monopoly.

You can’t opt out.

You can’t choose a competitor.

You can’t fire them when they fail.

Every essential service runs through one provider, backed by force, funded without consent, and protected from competition.

(no, the opposition is not the competition)

This is why all government services, everywhere in the world, are a nightmare to deal with.

Because they don’t have to be good.

No urgency. No pressure to improve.

No incentive to fix what’s broken.

If a private company treated you the way the government does, you’d walk away.

But with the state, you’re stuck.

That’s the real monopoly.
