Malta has a Restaurant Crisis

Restaurant standards in Malta are below sea level.

Overpriced food. Underwhelming flavours.

And more often than not, just plain disappointing.

Even nasty in many cases.

You’d think with the tourism, the amazing local produce, and Mediterranean culture, we’d get it right.

But no.

To have a decent meal, you have to go “fine dining.”

(Which is rarely fine either).

Good/fresh ingredients. Good service. Reasonable prices.

Those used to be normal. Now they’re a luxury.

These days if you want good food, cooked with fresh ingredients, served by trained, knowledgeable staff who are happy to see you, all at a decent price…

You’re probably not going to find it!

Yes, it’s that bad.

Mediocrity became the standard.

And no one seems in a rush to fix it.
